The short version
DittoDuo never uploads your clipboard history. We collect only what we need to sell you DittoDuo Pro, deliver your license and answer your messages, and we never sell it.
Who is responsible
The controller of your personal data is 501 Coding, 31 Gloria Dr, Greenbrier, AR 72058, United States. Reach us through the contact form.
The DittoDuo app
- Clipboard history is stored only on your Mac, in a folder that only your macOS user can read. DittoDuo never sends it to us. The one exception is AI assistant access, below.
- DittoDuo has no analytics, no advertising and no crash reporting of its own. (If you’ve opted in, macOS may send crash reports to Apple under Apple’s terms.)
- License checks (Pro only). When you activate Pro, and about once a week after that, the app sends your license ID (a random identifier) to https://dittoduo.vercel.app. The request contains no clips, no email address and no information about your Mac. Our hosting provider, Vercel, sees your IP address as part of the request; we don’t store it. For each license we keep the date of its most recent check, used to enforce the license and to count active licenses. Only that total is ever shown publicly.
- AI assistant access (Pro, off by default). If you turn it on, AI assistants that you set up on your Mac can read recent clips through DittoDuo’s MCP server, with likely secrets redacted. Redaction is pattern-based and can’t catch everything. That data goes to the assistant you chose, under that assistant’s own privacy terms. It never goes to us.
This website, purchases and support
- Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own checkout page, which sets its own cookies. We never see or store your card number. Stripe also collects your billing location to calculate tax.
- We store your email address, Stripe customer and payment IDs, and your license (ID, key, status and last check date) in a database hosted by Neon in the United States, to deliver your license, let you recover it, enforce it and handle refunds.
- When you use the contact form, we store your email address, optional name, topic, message and optional app version so we can reply.
- License emails are sent through Resend, with open and click tracking turned off.
- This website itself sets no cookies and uses no third-party tracking. It’s hosted by Vercel.
Why we use it (legal bases)
- To perform our contract with you: taking payment, delivering, recovering and checking your license.
- Legal obligations: keeping purchase and tax records.
- Legitimate interests: answering support messages, preventing abuse, and counting active licenses.
Where it’s processed
Stripe, Neon, Vercel and Resend process data in the United States. Where data from the EU or UK is transferred, it’s protected by those providers’ data processing terms, including the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework where they apply.
How long we keep it
Purchase records are kept for as long as tax and accounting rules require (generally up to seven years). Support messages are deleted within two years, or sooner on request. You can ask us to delete anything we aren’t required to keep.
Your rights
Contact us to access, correct, export or delete your data, or to object to how we use it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the CCPA, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. Deleting your purchase record also means we can’t resend your license.
Children
DittoDuo Pro isn’t sold to children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
